On Thursday October 25, 2012, Mendell Bradford Dean, of The Bradford Trio, was severely burned during an accident with hot cooking oil that burst into flames while cooking in her kitchen.  She was taken by ambulance to The University of Kansas Hospital Burn Unit, where she spent nearly a month due to the extent of the burns.  As a result Mendell required two surgeries to graft skin on her right hand and both of her legs. Ultimately they determined her to have 2^nd and 3^rd degree burns on 33% of her body.  Throughout her stay at the hospital she experienced  many serious moments, but God has been faithful through every step of this great trial in her life.  Through it all Mendell has kept a positive attitude, and has said “I can use this experience as an opportunity to help people who have been burned.”

We are so thankful for all who have been praying for Mendell.  We have seen the power of prayer first hand.  Mendell is now home with her husband Daniel where she will continue her recovery. 

 
Even though Mendell is making great progress, the road to recovery will be long.  The co-pays and deductibles for the Ambulance, Hospital, Doctors, Prescriptions, and other services are growing very quickly.  She is also dealing with loss of salary due to the length of her time off.  Some have expressed a desire to assist with the growing debt, so a “Fundraising Account” has been created on a website called “YouCaring.com.”  This website acts as an interface to assist those who want to make a donation to help relieve this financial burden.  If you are interested in donating, please click the “Prayers For Mendell” picture above or the link below.
